Computerized Bookkeeping Essentials Program
This program will put you in a good position to work as a bookkeeper, either in your own business or as an employee. Upon successful completion, you will receive a Statement of Program completion (please note that this program does not give you any official accounting designation). Program components include: Bookkeeping (BMBK 010), Simply Accounting (CRSA 001), and Bookkeeping Project (BMBK 003).
Prerequisite: Computer Basics or equivalent course/skills. Strongly recommended: Math 11, Proficiency in adding machine usage, Keyboarding (min. 25 wpm), English 12.

Desktop & Web Publishing Workshops
These workshops are offered online, and provide a basic introduction and hands-on practice with: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, and Macromedia Dreamweaver, enabling students to get their feet wet with desktop publishing and web editing, and to learn the basic design concepts involved in both. As well, students come out of the program with a portfolio to use as future reference and to present to potential employers.

Microsoft Office Skills Training (MOST) Certificate
Get the Microsoft Office Skills Training you need to become a valuable employee in today's workplace. Courses included in this program: All About Computers, Keyboarding, Word 1, Excel 1, Access 1, Outlook, PowerPoint, FrontPage, Publisher, Office Integration.
Course Prerequisite: Successful completion of Introduction to Computers (Nanaimo, Powell River) or Computers: The First Step (Cowichan), or equivalent course. Minimum keyboarding speed of 25 wpm recommended.

Technical Communication Certificate Program (online)
The Technical Communication online certificate program (non-credit) examine different aspects of Technical Communication with a view towards developing the student's expertise in a wide variety of skill areas within this career path. Students have two years to complete 5 core courses and 3 electives. Courses include Technical Writing & Editing (Levels 1 & 2), Writing Manuals, Designing Documents, Project Management, Technical Writing Tools 1 & 2 (software tools), as well as electives in Newsletter Design, Writing to Sell, Designing Online Information, RoboHelp, and E-Portfolio.
Prerequisite: English 12 with a grade of "C" or higher, or equivalent, Computer Basics or equivalent course/skills.
